Are you sure that you are prepared?

4-step core preparedness steps

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) web site recommends a four-step approach to preparing for emergencies.

  1. Be Informed on what do do before, during, and after an emergency.
  2. Make a Plan to protect you and your family. (Don't forget family members with special needs, as well as your pets.)
  3. Build a Kit to be prepared for disasters.
  4. Get Involved and support community preparedness.

Ready Virginia also features emergency preparedness help and resources to help Virginians prepare for disasters.
